Black Paint
Colour
Don’t feel intimidated by black paint – it can add a sense of drama and sophistication to any interior when used with finesse. Balance the forceful nature of black with softer, gentler tones to temper it’s strength, such as grey paint or neutral tones. Black works as an accent colour to create a bold, exciting structure and emphasise certain elements of your décor; it works particularly well in larger spaces. The trick with black is to use it subtly, allowing it to integrate with your palette rather than overwhelm it.
To create that heritage look, black perfectly pairs with cream to give you a synergistic effect in a vintage interior. When used alongside an intense wall mural or signature wallpaper, it brings out the contrasts beautifully, adding depth and vivacity that brings a bedroom or living room to life. Add blue paint in tones from eggshell blue to deep navy and you have a richer, more powerful contrast that can create a dynamic, showstopping hallway or library corner.
Are your paints water or oil based?
Each of our paints are water-based, which means they are all low odour and have a lower VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) level than any oil-based paints. It also means they are extremely quick drying, meaning you can get more out of your project in less time. Volatile Organic Compounds contribute to atmospheric pollution when they evaporate (when the paint dries), and they can be found in chemicals used across many industries such as soaps, building materials, and cleaning products.
