From an ethereal, Japanese-inspired twigs and leaves design to bold banana leaves or a jungle canopy, leaf curtains introduce a little dash of botanical beauty into any room. While the obvious perfect partner might be green paint, other colours can bring out the charm and whimsy of a leaf pattern. Neutral paint allows more delicate designs to come to the fore, creating a restful bedroom or a light and airy living room. For a burst of energetic colour in a kitchen, mustard paint adds a zing of dynamic design without becoming overwhelming. A chic pairing of leaf curtains and subtle grey paint gives a refined combination, ideal for a home office or spare bedroom. And for an interesting juxtaposition of colour, choose blue paint to add contrast to a leaf print.
Leaf curtains work in almost any room. They can bring that charmingly rustic feel to a kitchen, while bathroom leaf curtains can imbue a calm yet bright atmosphere without compromising your privacy. For bedrooms, leaf curtains featuring blackout linings ensure a restful and uninterrupted night's sleep by blocking out any outside ambient light sources. Choose from pencil pleats and our elegant new Wave pleat or easy-fit eyelet curtains made to fit your exact requirements.
What lining do I need for my curtains?
We offer various lining options for our made to measure curtains. Each has its own practical properties while also enhancing the overall look and feel.
- Our standard lining is the most affordable option and is used solely to enhance and give your main fabric a backing, helping to protect the fabric from direct sunlight by filtering out the light in the room whilst also creating a nice drape. This light filtering option is lightweight and produces a soft natural glow in daylight hours. Available in ivory.
- Our satin finish lining is medium weight that gently filters out light whilst creating an improved drape and finish. Satin lining is available in ivory and white.
- Our blackout/thermal lining is a specialised heavyweight lining option and our top pick to eliminate light from the room when drawn. It also helps protect the main fabric from direct sunlight to avoid fading. Our blackout/thermal lining helps keep the room cool in summer by reducing the amount of light dispersing into the room, and during those colder months, it helps retain heat, making this a fantastic choice for bedrooms. Other benefits include reducing energy consumption and noise pollution. This option is ideal for windows and doors with a draft and gives a beautiful drape and finish. Our blackout/thermal lining is available in two colours, ivory and white.
- Interlined curtains contain an extra layer of lining that is placed between your main curtain fabric and the backing/lining. The interlining provides greater thermal efficiency and gives your curtains more body. This is a great option if you want your curtains to have a fuller look, creating a more opulent and luxurious feel.
What kind of fabric is used to make your curtains?
Will there be joins in my Curtains?
Larger curtains will require a join in the fabric. Curtains over 1260mm wide will have a single seam in the fabric. If your fabric contains a pattern, the panels will be pattern matched across the seams.
